Fantasy Preview: #31 Miami Dolphins

Fantasy Preview:
#31 Miami Dolphins

Damn, I thought the Colts would be the toughest team to write about but boy was I wrong.  The Miami Dolphins are basically starting over and basically all of their players are going to be a reach if you plan to use them at all this season.  I mean, I am going to give them maximum 6 wins and that’s being generous. Ryan Tannehill is back though! Exciting news if he had anyone to throw to.

1)  Kenyan Drake – RB

This is the ONE player that is worth drafting IMO. After taking the starting job from Ajayi last year, he posted the 7th best fantasy point total among all running backs. He can catch the ball too, which makes him even more appealing in PPR leagues. The addition of Frank Gore is on odd one to me but I don’t think he will take away enough snaps for it to really matter, although he will most likely lose some goal line plays which will be extremely annoying for Drake owners.

Fantasy Prediction: Solid RB2

2) DeVante Parker – WR

See! I’m already reaching just to finish this blog. Is he a WR1 in the NFL? Yes. Has he really ever produced? No. Granted, he did have (The Goat) Jay Cutler throwing to him last season and Jarvis was always first look. At the same time, is Tannehill good? Eh. Not really. Average NFL QB at best.  He is definitely worth a draft pick in any league just because he is going to get targets being the main dude now but I’m not sold on him being a week to week WR2…yet.  Prove me wrong, DeVante.

Fantasy Prediction: Flex/WR3

3)  Mike Gesicki – TE

I am all over the Gesicki bandwagon. Dude is a freak athlete. He would have been my #2 guy here if it weren’t for Tannehill. The Phins have given Tannehill tight ends time after time and they just simply don’t produce. Jordan Cameron and Julius Thomas have contributed next to nothing in their time.  Charles Clay had a decent season in 2013. I believe that this kid is going to produce but will he gets the looks that he needs to be a TE1? We’ll see.  I see him having in-between a Evan Engram and OJ Howard season.

Fantasy Prediction: TE1 Upside

4)  Kenny Stills - WR

Luck. When/If you start Kenny, cross your fingers. Maybe say a little prayer. All you can hope for is for the big play. He just simply isn’t going to be the guy to get you 8 catches a game for 75 yards and a TD. He’s going to have two or three catches a game with the occasional 60 yard bomb. Don’t start him unless you have to.

Fantasy Prediction: Flex/Bench WR

5)  Ryan Tannehill - QB

I really wanted to leave him out of this but the amount of points QB’s put up it just didn’t make since. He hasn’t played in a year. He lost Jarvis Landry who has been replaced with Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson (who? I know).  Don’t even blink an eye at him unless you absolutely have to… and if you have to, sounds like you won’t win your league regardless.

Fantasy Prediction: Not worth a roster spot

Honorable Mention:

Danny Amendola/Albert Wilson - WR
